Sweet Potato Biscuits

Directions

  1. Boil, peel and mash potatoes.
  2. While mashed potatoes are still hot, measure 1 1/2 cups in a large bowl.
  3. Add butter, surgar salt and milk.
  4. Mix well
  5. Sift together flour, allspice, cinnamon, ground cloves and baking powder and add potato mixture.
  6. Work with hands to make a soft dough.
  7. Chill dough, rol out and cut into biscuits.
  8. Bake on greased cookie sheet on top shelf of 400 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until golden black.
Makes 12 biscuits.
