Round Steak Sauerbraten
INGREDIENTS:
- 1.5 lbs round steak, 1/2 inch thick
- 1 envelope brow gravy mix
- 1 Tbsp instant minced onion
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp wine vinegar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1 bay leaf
- Hot buttered noodles
DIRECTIONS:
Cut meat in i-inch squares. Brow meat in 1 Tbsp hot shortening.
Remove meat from skillet; add gravy mix and 2 cups water.
Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
Stir in next 6 ingredients, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper.
Add meat. Turn into 1 1/2-qt casserole.
Cover; bake at 350 for 1.5 hours. Remove bay leaf.
Serve on noodles.
