Meatballs in sour cream
ingredients
- 1 lb ground chuck
- 2 slices white bread
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 egg,slightly beaten
- ¼ tsp thyme
- ¼ tsp oregano
- ⅛ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp pepper
- ¼ lb butter
- ¾ cup consumme
- 1 cup sour cream
directions
- Trim crusts from bread. Soak bread in milk.
- Add seasonings to beaten egg and add to meat.
- Squeeze milk from bread and crumble into meat mixture.
- Mix thoroughly. Make meatballs the size of a walnut.
- Roll in flour. Fry in butter until brown.
- Put in a buttered casserole.
- Add consomme to remaining fat in pan; Boil up once, scraping brown bits
from pan.
- Pour over meat balls.
- Bake in 350 oven for 30 minutes.
- Add sour cream and bake 5 min longer.
Makes about 50 small meat balls.
