Beef and Potato Casserole

ingredients
- 1 lb beef round steak, 1" thick
- 3 T oil
- 3 small onions, thinly sliced
- 3 T flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- dash thyme
- dash garlic powder
- 2 cups water
- 3 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- salt
- paprika
directions
- Heat oven to 350
- Cut meat into 1" cubes and coat with flour
- Brown meat in oil.
- Add onions; cook and stir until onions are tender.
- Pour into ungreased casserole dish.
- Put flour on top of meat along with salt, pepper, thyme and garlic salt.
- Pour water over mixture.
- Cover and bake 45-60 minutes.
- Increase oven temperature to 450.
- Arrange potato slices on top of meat.
- Sprinkle with salt and paprika.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
